SOP Template Pre-Rolls King Kone 512
Standard Operating Procedure: King Kone 512 Pre-Roll Machine
Purpose:
To ensure efficient, consistent, and safe use of the King Kone 512 machine for producing pre-roll cones and tubes at scale.
Applies To:
Inventory techs, production staff, and supervisors involved in pre-roll manufacturing.
1. Pre-Use Checklist
Machine Inspection: Confirm machine is clean and free from residue or buildup. Check for loose parts, frayed cords, or signs of wear.
Supplies Check:
Pre-roll cones or tubes (make sure correct size trays are available)
Ground flower (proper grind consistency: medium-fine, no stems)
Tamping tools (short and long)
Collection tray
Alcohol wipes or spray bottle with 70% isopropyl for cleaning
PPE: Gloves, hairnet, and apron must be worn before operation.
2. Machine Setup
Power On: Plug in and switch the King Kone 512 to ON.
Select Tray:
Match cone or tube size to the correct filling tray.
Lock tray securely into place.
Insert Cones/Tubes:
Load each cone or tube individually into the tray openings.
Ensure all cones sit flush with no leaning or gaps.
Load Flower:
Distribute ground flower evenly across the tray.
Do not overfill to avoid spillage or uneven packing.
3. Operation
Start Fill Cycle:
Activate the machine’s vibration platform.
Allow machine to run for 10–20 seconds or until flower settles visibly.
First Tamping Pass:
Use the long tamping tool to gently compress flower toward the base.
Do not overpack — the goal is to eliminate voids, not crush the material.
Top-Off Fill:
Add more flower if needed, especially in king-size cones.
Final Tamping:
Use the shorter tamping tool for the top to finalize a consistent pack and create a flat, even top.
Shutdown:
Turn off machine after each batch to prevent unnecessary wear or overheating.
4. Post-Fill Steps
Twist or Fold Tops: Based on your brand SOP (twist, fold, or add a label top).
Visual Inspection: Check for under- or over-filled cones, gaps, or uneven burns.
Weigh Spot-Check:
Use a scale to verify that pre-rolls are within your target weight range (e.g., 0.95–1.05g for 1g joints).
Flag any units outside of tolerance for rework.
5. Cleaning and Maintenance
After Each Use:
Unplug machine
Wipe trays and vibration platform with 70% isopropyl
Remove and clean tamping tools
Let air dry before storing
Weekly Maintenance:
Deep clean trays and motor platform
Check screws and bolts for tightness
Inspect motor function and noise level
Replace worn tamping tools if edges are flattened
