Black Market Dispensary hosts local Art, Glass, and Community Vibes
Albuquerque’s Black Market Dispensary—formerly known as Daft Republic—marked its grand reopening this weekend with a packed community event in collaboration with the New Mexico Glass Society. Located off San Mateo, right next to Cliff’s Amusement Park, the event doubled as a showcase for local glass artists and a soft launch for Black Market.
The rebranded space is airy, modern, and clearly built with events in mind. Custom glassware lined the displays, with standout pieces ranging from colorful rigs to glow-in-the-dark evil eyes meant to ward off bad vibes. The crowd was lively, the energy was high, and the sense of community was real.
Local brands made strong showings too—Couchlock, Zia Turp Hunters, and Gastop Exotics were all in the building. One highlight was a collab-infused pre-roll between Gastop and Zia Turp Hunters that had more than a few people talking. Guests also got a first look at the upcoming Tical line of flower.
If this turnout is any sign of things to come, Black Market might be on its way to becoming a regular hub for the community. With its clean, open design and emphasis on collaboration, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it evolve into an event space—or even a consumption lounge—in the near future.
