Store-to-Store Inventory Transfer — NMS2S + Dutchie

Created 9.12.2026 - This process is for transporting products between stores using Dutchie and NMS2S; be advised this is a current work around until API connectivity is reestablished.

This process applies when inventory is being transferred between two stores operating under the same license, with the product moving from the sales floor/front stock of one location to the sales floor/front stock of another.

The NMS2S transfer should be completed first. Dutchie should be updated only after the NMS2S transfer has been completed and received.

1. Create the Manifest in NMS2S

From the sending location, create the transfer manifest in NMS2S.

Complete the required manifest information, including the sending location, receiving location, transportation information, and any other required fields.

Do not finalize the manifest yet.

2. Return the Sending Store Inventory from the Sales Floor

The inventory being transferred is currently in the sending store's Sell Floor room, which represents front stock.

Locate each inventory item that will be transferred.

For each item:

  1. Open the inventory record.

  2. Remove or return the inventory from the Sell Floor.

  3. Use the option to Return to Inventory.

  4. Select the appropriate inventory/storage room.

The product must be returned to available inventory before it can be added to the manifest.

Repeat this process until all products being transferred have been removed from the Sell Floor and are available for transfer.

3. Add Inventory to the Manifest

Once all transferring inventory has been returned from the Sell Floor:

  1. Open the previously created manifest.

  2. Add the applicable inventory items.

  3. Verify the inventory IDs and quantities being transferred.

  4. Complete and send the manifest.

At this point, the inventory has officially left the sending location in NMS2S.

4. Receive the Manifest at the Receiving Store

Switch to the receiving location in NMS2S.

Locate the incoming manifest and receive the transfer.

Verify that the inventory IDs and quantities received match what was sent.

Complete the receipt of the manifest.

5. Move the Received Inventory to the Sales Floor

After the manifest has been received, move the transferred products into the receiving store's Sell Floor room.

At this point, the NMS2S side of the transfer is complete:

Sending Store Sell Floor → Inventory → Manifest → Receiving Store Inventory → Receiving Store Sell Floor

6. Update Dutchie

Because Dutchie is not controlling the compliance transfer in this workflow, the Dutchie inventory should be updated separately after the NMS2S transfer has been completed.

Sending Store

At the original store:

  1. Locate each transferred product.

  2. Adjust the applicable quantity down.

  3. Confirm that the remaining Dutchie quantity matches the inventory remaining at that store.

Receiving Store

At the receiving store:

  1. Receive or add the transferred inventory into Dutchie.

  2. Enter the quantities received from the sending store.

  3. Verify that the product and package information correspond to the inventory received in NMS2S.

The final workflow is:

NMS2S:
Create Manifest → Return Product from Sell Floor → Add Inventory to Manifest → Complete Manifest → Receive at New Store → Move to Sell Floor

Dutchie:
Adjust Inventory Down at Sending Store → Receive Inventory at Receiving Store

NMS2S should remain the source of truth for the actual transfer. Dutchie should be updated afterward so both locations reflect the completed physical and compliance movement without creating conflicting transfer activity.
